Remembrance Day - 01 April 1995
Arnie was Vehicle Search Dog with the Army Dog Unit and was based in Northern Ireland with his handler Darren for 7 years. He bravely sniffed out explosives and weapons - all in return for the promise of a tennis ball. He retired in January 2007 when Darren was posted to Afghanistan and he lived with his new Mum Nicola until he passed away of a sudden illness on 19th September 2007. Where terrorists failed to stop him, his body eventually gave up the fight after a life of adventure in the army and luxury in retirement. He was a dog in a million and will forever be loved and missed by all those who knew him. We would also like to remember all the dog handlers and dogs around the world who have given their lives for their country.
